Michael Buiel, known to many as Mike or Big Mike, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton, MA at the age of 72. Born on May 12, 1952, in Dorchester, MA, with a sharp wit and an even sharper tongue, Michael lived life entirely on his own terms, never shying away from telling it like it was—whether you wanted to hear it or not.
Michael leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will be carried on by his surviving family members: Brothers Rick, Jimmy and Tom Buiel, Daughters Christina, Jessica and Katrina, Sons Michael and Mikey, as well as multiple adoring grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Though he is reunited with his departed family members, including Brothers Alexander II and Larry, Sons Steven and Brian, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Michael was a hardworking individual who graduated from high school and later established his own successful construction business. His dedication and craftsmanship were admired by many in the community, as he always sought to bring his client's visions to life.
Beyond his career, Michael was a devoted family man. He will be remembered for his love of life, his passion for fishing and storytelling, and his ability to light up any room with his infectious laughter. His sense of humor, often cutting but always memorable, left an impression on everyone who crossed his path. He was the kind of man who didn’t just share his opinion—he made sure you heard it.
Michael’s life was a testament to authenticity. He taught us that it’s okay to be yourself—flaws, sharp edges, and all. While he may have occasionally tested our patience, his love and presence were constant, grounding forces. Though we’ll miss his voice, his sarcasm, and his unwavering opinions, Michael’s spirit will live on in the family he loved so fiercely.
A celebration of Michael's life will be held on February 8, 2025, at 6:00 pm at the Vega Club, located at 895 Warren Ave in Brockton, MA. This gathering will be a time for friends and family to come together, share fond memories, and honor the impact Michael had on all who knew him
