Kevin W. Conway of Mystic, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend passed away following a long and wonderful life. Born October 17, 1932, in Norwich, CT to John and Fidelis Conway, Kevin was raised in Baltic and graduated from Windham High School. He went on to graduate from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, a place he loved all his life, and UCONN Law School. He was a founding partner of Conway, Londregan, Sheehan, and Monaco law firm in New London and enjoyed his career as an attorney including serving on the local and state Bar Associations. Kevin was a longtime trustee, and faithful parishioner at St Mary the Redeemer Church in Groton. He actively participated on various town committees and spent many years with friends as a life member of the Mystic Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus. Kevin always tried to leave people happier for having talked to him, which he usually accomplished and was especially exemplified by his work as a volunteer hospice visitor when he retired.
He loved playing golf with family and friends. The many people who knew him will miss his genuine warmth and sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife and love of his life Marjorie (O’Neill) Conway, daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Frank DeSisto of Uxbridge, MA, son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Katherine Conway of Groton, CT, son and daughter-in-law Brian and Christine Conway of Cedar Rapids, IA, daughter and son-in-law Maureen Conway and Maury Gittleman of Tacoma Park, MD, daughter and son-in-law Rosemary and Wayne Robinson of Ledyard, CT, and daughter Megan Conway of Uxbridge, MA. He is also survived by his grandchildren Andrew, Marjorie (John), Nick (Alexandra), Maura (David), Michael (Alana), Aileen (Josh), Celia, Fiona, John (Lisa), and Nathan (Cathy), as well as his great grandchildren Hunter, Chase, Owen, Connor, Matthew, Hayes, Rhodes, and Charlotte. He was pre-deceased by his grandson Dennis.
His family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, February 14, from 3 to 6pm at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 15, at 10:00am at St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church, 69 Groton Long Point Road, Groton. Burial will be private for the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Red Cross.
