Marilyn Ann Mansi was born July 14th, 1947, in Portland, Oregon to Robert and Wini Meyer. Growing up in Woodland Hills, California, Marilyn was the middle child of 5 brothers and sisters. She had a sunny and sweet disposition, and enjoyed exploring, hiking, and getting into adventures in the lemon groves of the San Fernando Valley. She was raised in a Baptist church, but credits her grandfather, "Pop", as an instrumental figure in her early faith.
Once she graduated high school from Taft High, she enrolled in the nursing program at SDSU and graduated from LA County General. After she graduated, she moved up to Berkeley and joined Campus Crusade For Christ as a staff member, sharing the gospel with college students. She earned the nickname, Marilyn "What a life" Meyer, for her zest and appreciation for life. After living overseas, she returned to CA as a registered nurse and began work at the Camarillo State Hospital, as a mental health nurse.
Not long after that, at a church in Ventura, she met her future love of her life, Ernie Mansi at a singles gathering. It was love at first sight for Ernie, and after a brief courtship, they were married in 1981. The following year, Marilyn gave birth to her son Matthew, followed by her daughter Ruth a year after that.
Marilyn's passion for Jesus would continue to grow, as she would encourage Ernie to go on short term mission trips with Campus Crusade for Christ, which changed his life forever. She participated in and led many medical mission trips overseas, taking with her a lot of the medical community of Ventura County to work in some of the most impoverished areas of the world.
Marilyn also had a great love for adventure, archaeology, history, creation science, prayer, and the nation of Israel. Her legacy will be marked by faithful service to the Lord, devoted wife to Ernie, and loving mother.
She is survived by her son Matthew and wife Rachel; daughter Ruth and husband Adam; grandchildren Vonn, Smith, Alexander, Layla; sisters Joan and Wendy and brother Terry.
