Mrs. Dorothy M. (Abbott) Seamster, a lifelong resident of Medford and beloved wife of Frank E. Seamster, passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on Thursday morning, January 30, 2025. She was 62 years old.
Born in Arlington, Massachusetts, on November 28, 1962, she was the beloved daughter of the late Frederick W. and Mary G. (Brown) Abbott. Dorothy was retired as a Pharmacist, after many years of service. Dorothy was a Cub Scout and Troop Leader and served in many roles at First Community United Methodist Church. In her spare time, Dorothy enjoyed fishing and reading. She also loved to birdwatch and do puzzles. A selfless person, Dorothy was always willing to help anyone in need and always put others before herself. She will be dearly missed.
Besides her beloved husband, Frank, Dorothy is survived by her loving sons and daughter-in-law; Kevin J. Seamster and his fiancée, MaryKate Cullinane both of Tewksbury and Owen P. and his wife Grace Seamster of Arlington, sisters and brothers-in-law; Helen A. and her husband Bob M. Simmons of Raleigh, North Carolina and Audrey S. and her husband Paul Abate of Chelsea, nieces and nephew; Andrew and Suzanne Simmons, Stephanie and Michael Walsh, and Alicia Abate, grandnieces and grandnephews; Dylan, Camden, Braden, Brynlee, William, and Finley and cousin; Kathy and her husband Anthony Scapicchio of Medford.
Dorothy’s funeral service will be celebrated in the First Community United Methodist Church, 55 Otis Street, Medford on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Donations in Dorothy’s memory may be made to the First Community United Methodist Church.
