Lois Mary Beighley, 81, of Derry, NH passed away on Wednesday January 29, 2025, at Parkland Medical Center of Derry after a period of declining health. Lois was born January 14, 1944, in Lawrence, MA and was a daughter of the late Peter and Stella Herberchuk. She was raised and educated in Lawrence, MA, prior to moving to Salem, NH where she finished schooling.
Lois attended art school in Boston and was employed for sometime as a commercial artist with the Gilchrist Department Store, formerly of Boston. Lois had been a resident of Derry for the past 23 years.
Lois was a painter and utilized Gouache mostly, she had been an active painter for most of her life. She was also an avid photographer using many of the photos as inspiration for creating a wide variety of art pieces. Crocheting was another creative outlet where she would often make afghans and/or baby blankets for friends and family.
Lois is survived, by husband of 58 years, Earl J. Beighley, of Derry, her son and his wife Michael and Luzmin Beighley of Hawaii. She was the last of three siblings and was predeceased by her infant daughter, Cheryl Ann Beighley.
After cremation, calling hours will be held Monday February 3, 2025, from 2 to 4pm at the Peabody Funeral Home and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street Derry with a funeral service at 3:30 pm.
