Rose (Smearer) MacGrath age 89 of Salem, NH, died Wednesday at the Salemhaven Nursing Home, Salem, NH.
She was born in Bartlett, NH, where she grew up and attended schools. She was a resident of Salem, NH for the past 16 years, formerly of Reading, MA.
Mrs. MacGrath was a retired store clerk for Charles Brothers of Reading, MA.
She was a member of Pleasant Street United Methodist Church in Salem, NH, where she was very active. She was a former member and President of the American Legion Auxiliary of Reading, MA. She was a member, Past Matron, and Past Grand Marshall of the Priscilla Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star in Reading, MA. She was also a volunteer at Salemhaven Nursing Home in Salem, NH.
She was predeceased by her husband James MacGrath
She is survived by 1 Daughter: Norma & her husband Robert Upton of Salem, NH

Calling hours will be held Tuesday September 3, 2002 from 9 to 11AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH.
Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody, MA.
