Joe Talmadge Fletcher, 88, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Pruitt Health in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 4 PM, Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Pine Level Cemetery, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, with Pastor Larry Davis officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening, from 6 Pm until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Fletcher was born November 22, 1936, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Tull Wiley & Nellie Watkins Fletcher. He served in the Army National Guard. Mr. Fletcher worked at the stockyard, for Lowell Packing, the Jessamine Place and he was the grounds keeper for Arising Industries. Mr. Fletcher’s favorite hobby was gardening.
He is survived by his children: Louie Fletcher of Fitzgerald, Wiley Fletcher & Lisa of Fitzgerald and Teresa Royal of Ocilla; grandchildren: Michelle Fletcher, Lucinda Fletcher, Breanna Fletcher, Nancy Long, Heather Vittitow & Jeremy, Aaron Fletcher & Taylor; great-grandchildren: Hayden Vittitow, Savannah Vittitow, Bretley Fletcher, Troy Long and Carly Long. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette C. “G.G.” Fletcher; a daughter-in-law, Jean Fletcher; a son-in-law, Joe Royal and 12 brothers and sisters.
