James Allen Bowen, 81, of Douglas, Georgia, died Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Vista Park Health & Rehabilitation Center, in Douglas, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with Pastor Vera Freeman officiating.
Mr. Bowen was born November 18, 1943, in Tattnall County, Georgia, to the late Alton & Margaret Jarriel Bowen. He moved to the community in 2007 under the care of the Jessamine Place. Mr. Bowen moved to Douglas 5 years ago under the care of Pastor Vera Freeman. He played an active roll in It’s About Savings Souls Deliverance Center, where he could be seen every time, the doors were open. He was well loved by all that met him and he lived a full rounded life.
He is survived by his brother, Larry Bowen; his loving Host Home Provider, Pastor Vera Freeman of Douglas and attentive caregivers: Annie Pearl Black and Emma Wiggins, who are all employed by the Jessamine Place; and a special friend and church member, Valarie Pace-Williams of Douglas.
Paulk Funeral Home, Fitzgerald, is in charge of arrangements.
