BIDDEFORD- Richard D. St. Onge, affectionately known as Frenchie, passed away on January 27, 2025, after a long battle with lung disease. He was a true lover of animals and the outdoors, known for caring for injured creatures, including rescuing and nurturing an abandoned baby squirrel back to health. A natural helper, Richard was always willing to give the shirt off his back to those in need. He was a friend to anyone seeking assistance or companionship. An avid science fiction enthusiast, inventor at heart, and captivating storyteller, Richard's legacy will be cherished by many.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elise; their dog, Eva; daughters Michelle, Freya, Susanne, and Cindy; son-in-law Rob; six grandchildren: Mathew, Asher, Jared, Mason, Sophia, and Gabriella; and siblings James, Linda, and Daniel.
In accordance to Richard’s wishes a celebration of life will be held this summer for friends and family.
