NORTON – Roger Bruce Gallant, 69, of Norton, MA and a longtime resident of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, January 26, 2025. He passed into Eternal Life at Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Springfield on January 29, 1955, a beloved son of the late Roger A. and Josephine A. (Ambrosetti) Gallant. He was raised in Chicopee and graduated from Chicopee High School. He moved to Norton where he lived the remainder of his life. He was a self-employed General Contractor who primarily worked on Nantucket building homes and restoration projects. He was a member of the Moose Family Center in Chicopee where he was often seen at the monthly car show with his classic Corvette with its “specialty” paint job. He enjoyed welding and working on cars and was on the pit crew at Riverside Raceway for his good friend, Bob. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Elizabeth (Madej) Gallant. They were married on Nantucket on August 3, 2007 and were blessed with over 17 years of happiness together. He also leaves his loving and devoted son, Christopher B. Gallant and his partner, Ariel Etheridge, of Granby; his cherished granddaughter, Aspyn Jaymes Etheridge-Gallant; his two loving step-daughters, Magdalena A. Reid and her husband, Robert, of Nantucket, and Anna E. Padzik of Pawtucket, RI; his cherished step-grandson, Jacob Santikulanont; his sister, Linda Parlee-Chowns and her husband, Charles Chowns, of Barto, PA; and numerous friends and extended family members. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 6 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial will be private. Bruce’s family requests that memorial donations be made in his memory to the Moose Family Center, 244 Fuller Road, Chicopee, MA 01020.
