Janice Louise Theresa Bohnenkamp, 68, died January 20, 2025, at Massachusetts General Hospital, after a long illness.
We are grateful to all the medical and personal caregivers for exceptional care that eased her stay and gave us some extra time with her. If anyone wishes to do something in Janice’s memory, please try to live with inspiration from Janice’s joie de vivre, and donations can be made to places such as Massachusetts General Hospital, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Cerebral Palsy Foundation, BCIL or any others that help people live with more accessibility and independence, libraries, education, and service animals / animal rescue.
Janice was predeceased by her parents, Harriett and Emil Bohnenkamp, and later-life step-mother Ruth Bohnenkamp. She is survived by a brother, Carl Bohnenkamp, who was always impressed by her inner strength. She is also survived by her ‘second families’, including: Serette Alphonse and children Latoya, James, Thaisha, and extended family; and sister-in-law Leslie, her mother “B” Buchanan, and their family. Janice enriched all our lives and many others. She will be missed, gratefully and lovingly remembered.
A service will be held at the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Friday January 31st at 12:30pm. Visitation will be held from 11:00am-12:30pm prior to the service. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Interment will be in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
