Obituary

Kathleen "Kathy" (Burgoyne) Wojcik, 74, of Lowell, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy health battle. She was the beloved wife of George P. "Pudgie" Wojcik, with whom she would have celebrated 55 years of marriage this May.

Kathy had a passion for life that was reflected in her many interests. She loved to travel, especially taking trips to Disney, and Las Vegas. A longtime camper, Kathy cherished her weekends relaxing at her campground, finding joy and peace in the outdoors.

She was born June 15, 1950, she was the daughter of the late George R. Burgoyne, and the late Dorice (Welch)(Burgoyne) Hurley, she was raised in "The Acre" of Lowell, and proud to be an Acre Girl. She was educated in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School. Her deep roots in the community were evident in her love for her hometown and the lifelong friendships she cultivated.

Kathy’s career spanned decades at Compugraphic, later AGFA, and finally Bayer in Wilmington, where she worked until her retirement. She was a dedicated and hardworking employee who formed lasting bonds with her colleagues.

Kathy’s greatest joy was her family. She delighted in cooking for them and took immense pride in caring for and spoiling her grandchildren. Her warm and nurturing spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband George, Kathy is survived by her two children, Stacy Frazier of Lowell and George Wojcik of Lowell; her cherished grandchildren, Ryan Frazier and Alyssa Frazier of Lowell; and her siblings, Ruthie Janeiro of Lowell, James Hurley of Lowell, and Deborah Hurley of Wisconsin. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Kathy was predeceased by her siblings Georgie Burgoyne and Kevin Burgoyne.

You are welcome to attend her memorial visitation on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 10am until 12 noon at the McDonough Funeral Home 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA 01852.
