Obituary

The Earth shifted slightly off its axis Thursday, January 16th, as Joseph Alfred Hill Sr. passed suddenly and painlessly.

Joe Hill, Big Joe, Joey, the biggest baddest teddy bear.

A life long Bostonian and legendary storyteller. Joe traveled from his hometown a year ago to pursue a happier, healthier lifestyle with his partner Jenny - to which he succeeded. His new Arizona friends referred to him, lovingly, as "Boston."

When you were talking with Joe, the conversation was wholly about him and you - unless he was interupting you to order his coffee at the drive-through. He let everyone know how important you were to him, and why - a custom tailored relationship for everyone in his life. Joe's family and friends were his drive and he loved them hard from beginning to end.

Joe leaves behind a LOT of family, friends, stories, and impressions. His daughters Alicia, Veneau, Chickie Williams and Deirdre (Dee Dee) Hill; his sons Joe (jojo) Hill Jr. and Steven (Stevo) Hill; Sisters Diane & Husband Charlie, Katherine, Karen and Husband Raymond; Brothers Johnny and wife Mary, Stephen, Danny and wife Kerry, nine grandchildren - Natalya, Lydia, Ronan, Arlo, Tilly, Isaiah, Pryscilla, Maleko and Marceline. So many cousins, nieces, nephews and pets. Thank you to Fitzy, Jimmy, Aaron and Stevie for standing by him always.

Joe joins his parents, Virginia and Al Hill, late wife Veronica, his beloved dogs Athos and Debo, and a myriad of friends who left him too soon.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours at The Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Street, South Boston, Thursday Jan 30 from 2:00-4:00p.m. Followed by a ride around his beloved South Boston.

May you finally get a good night's sleep. Enjoy your vacation dad, we can't wait to see what stories you come up with.

We love you.
