Obituary

LIMERICK - Andrew A. Colby, age 66, passed away on January 23, 2025, at Maine Medical Center, after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Andy was born on June 12, 1958, in Portland, Maine, a son of the late Henry and Vera (Damon) Colby. Andy grew up in Limington, Maine, and attended Bonny Eagle High School before joining the US Army to be stationed in Germany. Andy married Ann (Whiteley) Colby on May 3, 1986, making their home in Limerick. Andy spent most of his life in commercial and residential construction. Andy loved the outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing, especially in the Northern woods of Greenville and Ragged Lake. In the summer months, Andy could be found at Whiteley Beach listening to golden oldies and country music while he took in all the happenings with family and friends at the pond. His greatest love was his family. Together Andy and Ann raised 3 beautiful daughters who blessed them with Brielle (Queenie), Bryson, Isabelle, Callie, Juliett and Emett. He would say “Where’s my pretty girl?” in his deep raspy voice. Andy loved barbecues, race parties, deer camp, holidays, and celebrating with family and friends. He was always there for someone who needed a place to sleep or animals who needed a home. Andy is predeceased by his parents and his infant daughter Lindsay Marie. He is survived by his wife Ann of 38 years, daughter Marie Reynolds and her husband Chad of Limington, daughter Lyndsey Laskey and her husband Chad of Waterboro, daughter Jessie Carlson and her husband Eric of Waterboro, siblings Henry Colby and partner Gloria, Cheryl Ring and husband Jim, Joe Colby, Jeff Colby and wife Rosalie, Steven Colby and wife Kathy, sister in law Nora Colby, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and several others who called him ‘Papa Andy,’ all who he loved beyond measure.
