Obituary

Amelia Pedroso of Chelmsford, was called by God to his Kingdom peacefully with her children by her side on January 22, 2025 after a brief illness. She was 95.

Born in Norte Grande, Sao Jorge in the Azores on November 8, 1929, Amelia immigrated to Lowell, MA after the passing of her husband in 1973 with her four children. The choice to move to Lowell, MA was a difficult one but Amelia was extremely courageous in her decision. With that one decision, Amelia provided her family the ability to achieve the American Dream.

After coming to Lowell, Amelia was employed at Grace Shoe in Lowell, Honeywell in Brighton and at Qualitronics, Inc. in Lowell which was owned by her son, Luis. She retired in 1990 to help raise and care for her grandchildren. Amelia was truly talented and enjoyed many hobbies. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, gardening, crocheting, playing cards, word searches, puzzles and playing PacMan on her Atari. However nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family during holidays, vacations and celebrations.

She was granted the “Key to the City of Lowell, MA” in 1995 and many more awards when she was named Family of the Year with her son, Luis, by the Portuguese Continental Union.

She now joins her beloved husband, Helio Pedroso, her parents Jose and Amelia dos Santos, her brother, Manuel Pedroso, her sisters, Maria Faustino and Arminda Correia, her Mother and Father- in- Law Manuel and Maria Almada Sequeira, her granddaughter, Michelle Dinis and her Great-Grandson, Wyatt Pedroso.

She is survived by her loving and devoted children, Maria Silva and her husband Fernando of Dracut, Luis Pedroso of Hampton, NH, Luisa Dinis and her husband Joao of Dracut and Paulo Pedroso and his wife Christine of Pelham, NH. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren David Silva and his wife Erica of Lowell, Amanda Varga and her husband Nicholas of Pelham, NH, Jessica Calabrese and her husband Douglas of Lowell, Ashley Costa and her husband Jeffrey of Methuen, Meghan Dinis and her partner, Joseph Carr of Lowell and Michael Pedroso and his wife Kaylia of Billerica.
