Auburn – Bryanne M. (Laycock) Looney, 81, a longtime resident of Auburn, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025 in the Jewish Healthcare Center after a long illness.
Mrs. Looney is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Raymond F. Looney Jr. of Auburn; a daughter, Melissa Looney of California; four sons, Raymond Looney III of Auburn, James Looney and his wife, Elizabeth of Groton, Jason Looney of Auburn and Brian Looney and his wife, Jeaneth of Worcester; two sisters, Susan Lee of Grafton and Cathy Laycock of Auburn; 4 grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Bryanne was born in Worcester, daughter of the late James D. and Charlotte M. (Sykes) Laycock. She graduated from the former Saint Peter’s High School. She spent the majority of her work career working as an administrative assistant. Her most recent job was with Eddy’s Carpet and she had previously worked for Toys R Us, Caldor, various real estate agents and Bob Cousy.
Mrs. Looney was a longtime member of Saint Joseph Church in Auburn. Bryanne was an avid Boston sports fan, but the Celtics and Patriots were always a priority. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, purchasing items that she really didn’t need from QVC and taking trips to Hampton Beach, but she was always the happiest when she was able to spend time with her family.
The funeral will be held from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester on Tuesday, January 28 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Joseph Church 189 Oxford St. Auburn. Burial will take place at 1 PM in The Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon. Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 27 from 5 to 7 PM. In the funeral Home.
