Alan Gordon rode into Los Angeles on March 13, 1943, and rode out in glory on January 13, 2025. About to be 82 years old, he spent the last 52 years with his Wife #1, as he always enjoyed introducing her. Yes, his sense of humor was endearing.
Alan loved every day of his almost 82 years from his years growing up within a loving Jewish family in the Boyle Heights District of Los Angeles. He attended Los Angeles High and UCLA from where he still maintains many friendships. He then proudly served our country in the U.S. Army Reserve. From Max Factor to the restaurant business to owning his own international business, his endeavors took him around the globe, making friends for life.
Fifty-two years ago, the restaurant biz took Alan to Pittsburgh, PA where he met Diane. From Denver, then Aspen, then back to California where first Lianne, then Jessica where born.
Eventually owning Kane Industries with his family of employees, designing, manufacturing and marketing textiles internationally. In his later years he entered the Ventura County Ag scene partnering with his best bud and son-in-law Darrell in multiple produce industry ventures. Equally passionate about business and home life, his family always came first. He was the best husband and father a family could ask for.
From Harley rides with his “Hills Angeles”, international travel, to being a founding member of Spanish Hills and a beloved member of the Buena Ventura Club, he cherished his relationships and loved his life. We will all miss him correcting our grammar, cracking Dad jokes, giving loving advice and his warm embraces. He was our whole world.
Alan S. Gordon is survived by his wife, Diane and sister, Shelley Morgan; his daughter Lianne Beyer, her husband Darrell and their children Dylan, Lily, and Henry; and daughter Jessica Langsbard, her husband Brian and their son Leo. He is preceded in death by his parents, Selma and Jacob Leo Gordon and his brother Gene Gordon. He is already missed by so many who just adored his love of life and people. What a life well lived!
