Brenda G. (Todd) Briggs, lifelong resident of Medford, passed away on Tuesday, January 21st. She was 73. Born in Boston, she was the cherished daughter of the late William P. and Helen M. (Getz) Todd.
Brenda had a kind disposition with a heart full of love. She lived by the Girl Scouts Promise and Law, “To serve God and country, to help people at all times,” and that truly describes who Brenda was.
Brenda was extremely dedicated and went above and beyond for her church, the Congregational Church of Medford, and served as a deacon for many years. When Brenda was not partaking in church activities and services, she loved to bake. Brenda’s chocolate chip cookies were absolutely delicious. She made dozens at a time and was known to share them with everyone.
Brenda absolutely loved Walt Disney World and looked forward to her yearly family trips with John and Jenn. Her memorabilia collection was extensive, spanning from figurines and stuffed animals to clothing. Brenda had a Tigger t-shirt that was her ultimate go-to comfy shirt, and recently Jenn was able to find the exact t-shirt on her last Disney vacation and purchased it so they could be twinsies. She enjoyed doing crafts and crocheting. She made blankets and gifted each and every one of her nieces and nephews their first Christmas stocking knitted with their name and birthday on it.
Brenda was the beloved wife of 39 years to the late John R. Briggs, Jr. She was the devoted mother of Jennifer “Jenn” Briggs. She was the dear sister of Bruce Todd and his wife Colleen, and the late William Todd, Jr. Brenda is also survived by many loving foster sibling, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Brenda’s family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Wednesday, January 29th from 4-8 PM and again on Thursday, January 30th for a celebration of Brenda’s life at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Brenda’s name to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA, 02452.
