Robert Lewis Wilson (also known as Lewis M. Wolfe) was born on December 10, 1946 to the
late Lewis Wolfe and late Maybelle Wolfe, in Boston, Massachusetts. He grew up in the Boston
and Medford areas, where he also attended school. Upon receiving his GED he went on to
further his education at Wentworth Institute of Technology. He pursued a career in drafting at
Boston Gas, retiring after 20+ years. Returning to the workforce in the receiving department at
Stop & Shop and retiring after 15+ years. Robert believed in hard work. What could have been used as excuses were instead turned into stepping stones.
He truly valued spending time with God, reading devotions every morning before starting his
day. He also valued his relationship with Mary Powell. Sharing his life with her, going on
summer vacations to Cape Cod and traveling to New York and Washington. His favorite place
was Franklin Park, where he used to go on morning runs (he missed those runs). He enjoyed
daily exercise, reading, going to the movies, cookouts with family and friends, spending time
with his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Taking them to the beach, amusement
parks, bike riding and ice skating when they were younger. Just taking a ride in the car on a nice
summer day. Going out to get a strawberry ice cream-sundae with nuts. Watching football and
boxing with his sons. Watching the Olympics. He loved Jazz and going to the Jazz festival every
summer in Cambridge. Robert enjoyed eating! His two favorite dinners were fried chicken wings
and french fries with homemade pan-gravy on everything and chicken livers with onions & green- peppers, over rice, smothered with pan-gravy.
He leaves behind, a beloved confidant and best friend, Mary Powell; His children, Tracy Wolfe,
Demetrious Wolfe and Rhonda Wolfe, Monte Wolfe, Keyon Hurd and Ashana Hurd, Jeffrey
Powell Sr., Mary Powell; His grandchildren, Tashiana Wolfe, David Wolfe, Apheilia Wolfe,
Monte Wolf Jr., Shyanne Wolfe, Brihana Wolfe, Amara Hurd, Kayden Hurd, Antoine Jackson,
Jeffry Powell Jr. and Davaughn Jones; His great-grandchildren, Bishop Wolfe, Saige Tylerbest,
Maliah Wolfe, Shane Tylerbest; His siblings, Lewison Hendrix and the late Willie C. Hendrix Jr.,
Lorraine Lordi and Bob Lordi, Alvin C. Wolfe; A host of nieces, nephews, extended family and
friends.
This is a great loss and is deeply felt. Robert was an honorable man with a kind and generous
heart. His character, humility and strength were admirable. He will forever have a place in our
hearts.
