Betty Sue Lee McGee, 91, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, January 20, 2025, at her daughter’s residence in Tifton, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, January 26, 2025, at the Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with Dr. Jerry Mahan officiating.
Mrs. McGee was born January 12, 1934, in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late Jim & Jessie Harper Lee. She graduated from Irwin County High School. Mrs. McGee worked as a dispatcher for the Game & Fish Commission and was the office administrator for the Ben Hill County Sheriff’s office. She also worked for Segraves Furniture. Mrs. McGee was a member of First Baptist Church in Fitzgerald and a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her daughter, Lee Ann Walker & Emory of Tifton; a son, Andy McDonald & Kim Kelly of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Jessica Walker, Glen Walker, Ashlee Ray & Chris, Jr, and Alyssa McDonald; great-grandchildren: Emree Ann Eldridge, Dalyn Walker, Jaden Walker, Tinsley Walker and Walker Doss; a niece, Jane Ellen Phillips and a nephew, Ray Bryant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands: John Hughes and W.C. McGee; a son and daughter-in-law: Michael & Wanda McDonald; and siblings: Burnell Lee Bryant, Melvin Lee, Edison Lee and Hazel Lee.
