Obituary

CHICOPEE – Constance G. "Connie" (Kintgios) Manioudakis, 83, a longtime resident of Chicopee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2025. She passed into Eternal Life at the East Longmeadow Memory Care Assisted Living surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on June 25, 1941, a beloved daughter of the late George and Angie (Kantianis) Kintgios. She graduated from Chicopee High School and was a lifelong resident of the city. She furthered her education and received an Associate's Degree in Business from Bay Path Institute. She was the co-owner of the Corner Store in Chicopee from 1978 to 2000. She was a communicant of Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Springfield and was formerly a communicant of Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Chicopee. She was a member of the Saint George Ladies Philoptochos, Past President and Secretary of the Daughters of Penelope, and a member of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA) in Springfield. Connie was an avid reader, especially Danielle Steel novels. She traveled to many places, including Spain, Morocco, and Israel. Most of all, she was a loving and devoted wife and mother who adored her family very much. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, George E. Manioudakis who was Called Home on December 5, 2024. They were married on June 21, 1964 at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 60 years of happiness together. She leaves her two loving and devoted sons, Angelo G. Manioudakis and his wife, Melani Cammett, of Boston, and Stephen G. Manioudakis and his wife, Kim, of Belchertown; her five cherished grandchildren, Alexandros, Lennie, Nikos, Evan, and Cooper Manioudakis; her dear sister, Efstathia Fisher and her husband, John, of Somers, CT; her dear brother, Nicholas Kintgios and his wife, Yvonne, of Springfield; her dear sister-in-law, Calliope Hoffman of Longmeadow; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. Her funeral will be held on Thursday morning, January 30, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2320 Main Street, Springfield, MA 01107. (Please meet directly at the Cathedral). Her Burial will follow the Funeral Service at Fairview Cemetery, Abbey Memorial Drive, Chicopee, MA 01013.
