WORCESTER__Roman Pianka, 62, of Worcester died at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus on Sunday, August 6.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Pianka and a daughter Maria Pianka, two sisters, Henryka Zylka of Poland and Zofia Trzcinska of Maine. He was predeceased by 2 brothers. Mr. Pianka was born in Tabory, Poland, the son of Jan and Marianna (Gawrych) Pianka and moved to Worcester in 1979.
He was a machine operator having worked at the former Wonderbread Company in Natick. He was a former member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 9, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday, August 8 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
