It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of the passing of Melsida Khachaturyan of Georgia.
Melsida Khachaturyan, 74, passed away peacefully at her home in Newton on January 21 2025 after a three year-long battle with cancer, surrounded by her loved ones.
Melsida was born in Yerevan, Armenia on April 24 1950 to an army colonel Mikael Khachaturyan and Astghik Harutunyan who was a dentist. She had a life-long love of music, especially the fortepiano, and had her degree in music from the Georgia State Conservatoire of Arts. She was a pianist and a teacher of music.
A devoted and loving mother and wife, she is survived by her son David and husband Eduard, and many close friends and relatives who are all devastated by this loss. She was the pillar of strength for her family and will be deeply missed by all. We pray to Christ our Lord that she will watch over us from heaven, by the grace of God.
