Ronald D. King, age 64, of Plainville, a former longtime resident of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
Born in Attleboro, MA on March 31, 1960, he was a loving son of the late Ronald E. and Margery (Milliken) King.
Ronnie grew up in Mansfield and was a 1978 graduate of Mansfield High School. He continued his education, graduating from Bryant College. Ron had worked as a lawn care professional and was also employed for many years at the former Hathaway & Patterson in Mansfield.
In his youth, Ronnie excelled in sports and always remained a dedicated Boston sports fan. He served as a former coach for Mansfield Pop Warner Football and was an avid golfer. Ron loved spending time with his close-knit family and was especially proud of being a new grandfather.
He is survived by his devoted son Ryan M. King and his wife Jaclyn of Des Plaines, Illinois. He was the cherished grandfather of Charlotte King. He was the dear brother of Laurie A. Chace and her husband Dale of North Attleboro, Paul E. King of Plainville and Kathy A. Risotti and her husband George of Mansfield. He was the much-loved uncle of Courtney McKernan and her husband Jeffrey of Cumberland, RI, Nicole Chace and her partner Christopher Gallery of Attleboro, Tyler Risotti of Norton and Austin Risotti of Mansfield. He was the devoted nephew of Beatrice Knowles and her late husband Berle and the late Ruth King. He is also survived by two cousins and his close friend Terry.
Services, along with burial at the Spring Brook Cemetery in Mansfield will be held privately and visiting hours are omitted.
