Obituary

Raymond Daniel Mora, 59, of Commodore, PA passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, January 17, 2025.

The son of Linda (Jodon) Walker, he was born on November 18, 1965 in Maricopa, Arizona. On July 1, 1988 he wed Penny Lynn (Fetterman), who has been his soul mate since seventh grade.

For over twenty years, Ray was the self-employed owner of Mora Small Construction and Cleaning, where he worked side by side with his wife, Penny.

Ray was a master of all trades, who had a talent for always being able to look over a project and figure out exactly what was needed to be done. He enjoyed making random trips to Lowe’s to look for what items were on sale that would be useful for him to have on hand for future projects. Two of his other favorite pastimes were going “thrifting” and looking for antiques.

He was a proud Trump Supporter, who was looking forward to this month’s presidential inauguration.

Ray was always focused on helping families in need.

Most of all, Ray loved being surrounded by his family and spending time with his beloved grandchildren. He prioritized creating special moments with his three children, Jessica, Tiffany and R.J. He loved having meaningful telephone conversations with his daughters, Jessica and Tiffany, and especially loved shared his ideas for home projects where he could offer hands on help. On Fridays were the treasured “Father and Son Days” each week when he would dedicate a part of his day to spending time with his son, R.J. Considered a part of his immediate family is his much loved American Bully dog, Jax, whom Ray would also fondly call by his nickname Jackal.

Ray’s family will greatly miss the pure and direct advice Ray would give when asked for his opinions and will forever remember the wisdom of the life lessons he bestowed upon them.

Ray is survived by his wife of over thirty-six years, Penny Mora of Commodore, PA; his three children: Jessica Kalgren and husband, Ken of Aultman, PA; Tiffany Stauffer and husband Brinnan of Pittsburgh, PA and Raymond “R.J.” D. Mora, Jr. and wife Amber of Commodore, PA; three grandchildren: Keegan, Leland and Raymond “Asher”; two step grandchildren: Kenneth “K.K.” and wife Ashleigh and Jillian; his step great grandchildren: Apollo and Devana, his close sister-in-law, Beth and husband Josh and all of his extended family members.

Preceded in death by his mother and an infant grandchild.

In accordance with Ray’s wishes, private arrangements were held for his immediate family with the assistance of the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA.
