Claire A. Adams, age 83, of Brockton, formerly of West Bridgwater, passed away on January 14, 2025, at St. Joseph Manor in Brockton.
Born and raised in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Florence (Roode) Wood and was a graduate of Brockton High School.
She worked as a secretary for Andrew Dutton for fifteen years before retiring in 2006.
Claire was known for being a good listener and great conversationalist. She was friendly, perky, and pleasant to all.
Some of her favorite pastimes include watching old movies and television shows with Matlock being her favorite, puzzles, trips to the casino to play slot machines, and playing bingo.
She was extremely proud of her daughters Dale Fougere of Maine and Debbie Burns and her husband Gary Burns of Randolph. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Gabrielle Gilman of Quincy and Jared Gilman and his wife Cadence of Philadelphia and 2 great grandchildren Logan and Brooke Gilman and many cousins and nieces. She was the late sister of Elaine Pacheo of Plymouth
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to visit with Claire’s family on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton. Interment will be held at a later date in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Claire’s name can be made to the West Bridgewater Food Pantry.
