It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Brian Bothwell, on January 10, 2025. Brian was born on May 18, 1958 in Newton, Massachusetts. He graduated from the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School and worked as an artist, photographer, video editor, and musician.
Brian was best known as one half of the electronic music duo Manufacture. Sarah McLachlan sang "As the End Draws Near" on their first album "Terrorvision", which became a platinum single in Canada when the song appeared on her album "B Sides, Rarities, And Other Stuff”. Brian is survived by his wife of 31 years, Meli Pennington; his younger brothers Bruce and Doug; his niece Madeline Bothwell; and many in-laws, cousins, and friends who deeply mourn his loss. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph C. and Maureen G. Bothwell.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul’s Parish, 502 Washington St., Wellesley, MA on January 25, 2025 at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Contributions in his memory can be made to the American Lung Association at www.lung.org.
