Randall J. Rapoza, 61, of Westport, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 at St. Anne's Hospital. He is the husband of Michelle (Verville) Rapoza for 43 years.
Randy (Papa to his beloved grandchildren) was born in Fall River, son of Ronald and Priscilla (Carvalho) Rapoza of Tiverton and had resided in Westport for over 40 years. He was certified as a Jeweler and worked as a Maintenance Technician for Peabody Properties. He had coached for the Westport Babe Ruth and Westport Girls Softball Leagues and was the founder and President of the Westport Girls Basketball league. He was an avid New England sports fan, loved riding his Triumph motorcycle, his convertible mustang, and was involved in the Fall River Racing Pigeon Club. He was a devout Christian and a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport. Randy was artistic and used that talent with his Christmas decorations and pumpkin carving. He loved to gift his beautiful creations to everyone. Everyone knew Randy by his smile and laugh and larger than life personality.
Survivors along with his wife and parents include his son: Ryan M. Rapoza of RI; his 2 daughters: Jessica L. Rapoza and her fiancé Scott Dube of Westport and Kristy L. Jeffrey and her husband James of Westport; a brother: Ronald W. Rapoza and wife Karen of Tiverton; sister: Robin B. and husband Edward Domonte of RI; brother-in-law: Claude Verville and Kathy of Swansea; sister-in-law: Nanette and husband Dennis Nadeau of Westport; 9 cherished grandchildren: Shae, Emma, Brianna, Kylie, Kara, Randi-Lynn, Jacob, Abigail and Evan; along with many, cousins, nieces and nephews. His family meant everything to him.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, January 23, 2025 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Wednesday from 5-8 P.M.
Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
