William A. Boyd, 86, of Derry, NH, passed away peacefully Friday, January 17, 2025. He was born on February 28, 1938, in Newark, NJ, a son of the late William and Evelyn Boyd, and had recently been a resident of Derry for the past few years, formerly living in West Groton, MA for 42 years.
Bill is predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years, Margaret (Simpson) Boyd, and sister, Jacqueline DeMarzio.
Bill is survived by his 4 children, Kelly Oliveira and her husband Joseph, Tracey Boyd-Reed and her husband John, Shawn Boyd and his wife Heather, and Jason Boyd and his wife Kerry; and his 11 grandchildren, Brianna, Andrew, Zoe, Mia, Ella, Abigail, Alexander, Samuel, Eva, Shiloh, and Ben. Bill is also survived by his brother, Bruce Boyd and his wife Barbara.
Bill filled his life loving his wife dearly, raising his family, spoiling his grandchildren, laughing with friends and enjoying the outdoors; hunting and fishing. Bill was known for his wry sense of humor, and his knack for sharing the stories of his life.
Bill served his country for 22 years in the Army, during which he earned numerous awards and commendations including the Bronze Star.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry, NH. Army Military Honors and a time of sharing will start at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at act.alz.org or to the Vietnam Veterans of America at vva.org
