Michelle C. DeRosa, 67

Michelle C. DeRosa, age 67, a longtime resident of Taunton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at the home of her sister in Fall River.
Born in Boston, MA on September 29, 1957, she was a loving daughter of the late Josephine M. “Josie” (Ramos) DeRosa and George Li Chin.
Michelle grew up in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston and was educated in Boston Public Schools. Her happiest times were those spent with her adoring family and the comfort she found collecting stuffed animals, windchimes and going out of her way to help others. Michelle also had a special love for Motown music and dancing and her hobbies included shopping, drawing, dining out, walking and traveling.
She is survived by her devoted children, Lee DeRosa of Mansfield and Nichelle DeRosa of Boston. She was the cherished grandmother of Maximo DeRosa of Boston. She was the dear sister of Deborah “GiGi” DeRosa and her spouse Fulani Butler of Boston, Helen Castro and her husband Fall River, Danielle Barros of Quincy, Rochelle Shokoti and her husband Ladi of Cambridge, Sonya Paquin and her husband Scott of Braintree and the late Richard DeRosa and Robert DeRosa.
Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Friday, January 24th at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
Visitation will be held prior to the funeral services on Friday morning beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Michelle’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Massachusetts Association for Mental Health, 50 Federal Street, 6th Floor, Boston, MA 02110.
