Glenda Gail Wheeler, 76, of Sycamore passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Rocky Mount Baptist Church, 1050 Rocky Mount Church Road, in Ashburn with the Rev. Carlton Webb and the Rev. Tommy Tucker officiating. Mrs. Wheeler will be laid to rest at Rocky Mount Baptist Church Cemetery in Ashburn. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Ashburn from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Richard Wheeler, Brandon Wheeler, Scott Goff, Kerry Wisham, Kip Wisham and John McKinnon will serve as pallbearers. Gavin Reese will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Born February 2, 1948, in Turner County, Mrs. Wheeler was the daughter of the late Bonnie Pitts Wisham and Lewis Brown Wisham, Sr. She received an accounting degree from Ben Hill Tech; and, before retiring, she worked as a paraprofessional with the Turner County School System; and she was a faithful member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Ashburn.
Mrs. Wheeler loved and was loved by everybody and never met a stranger. She was a faithful Christian woman and loved to go to church. Every morning, she faithfully read her Bible and had her devotion. She loved to knit and crochet. She enjoyed playing games and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending all events they were involved in. Another of her favorite things was working in the yard and tending to her flowers. She also loved her furry friends, Poncho and Lilly Bell.
Mrs. Wheeler is survived by her husband, Gerald Wheeler of Sycamore; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Clark (Connie) Wheeler of Arabi, Lester Goff of Blackshear and Greg (Pam) Wheeler of Alabama; one daughter, Cindy McNeese of Cordele; one brother and sister-in-law, Brown (Wanda) Wisham of Sylvester; one sister and brother-in-law, Marcia (Jerry) Aspinwall of Odom; ten grandchildren and their spouses, Richard (Ashley) Wheeler, Ashley (Micah) Mathews, Brandon (Sharon) Wheeler, Brittany (Brandon) Mulkey, Chris Goff, Scott (Destiny) Goff, Justin Goff, Renee Goff, Hunter Meadows and Alexis (Gavin) Townson; several great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins.
