Elizabeth A. DeWolfe, 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16th after a brief illness.
She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Willis D. DeWolfe, her brothers, Henry “Hank” Nelson, and Carl “Gus” Nelson and her great granddaughter Stella Mae Stake.
She leaves behind four children, Kenneth and his wife Cheryl of Boylston, Douglas and his wife Karen of Hopkinton, Gary and his wife Marlene of Boylston and Linda and her husband Curtis Stake of Boylston, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Elizabeth “Betty” was born in Worcester, daughter of Mary and Carl Nelson. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. Betty retired from Quinsigamond Community College and also helped with the family business.
Betty was a lifelong Worcester resident and member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She had many long-time friends that she loved dearly and in the last few years made many new friends when she moved to the Briarwood Community. Betty had a very active social life with many interests including reading, playing games, especially bridge, watching football and anything that got her out with friends for some fun. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.
All services are private. Arrangements are being handled by Nordgren Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 73 Lancaster St., Worcester, MA 01609.
