Patricia A. Montagano, formerly Patricia Baker, age 87, of Raynham died unexpectedly at her home on January 11, 2025. Pat was the wife of the late John F. Montagano.
Pat was born and raised in Brockton. After graduating from Brockton High School, she earned an additional diploma from the New England School of Art. Pat relocated to Easton, where she raised her daughter. She owned and operated an interior design store in Brockton. She then became a store manager for Sherwin Williams, from which she earned her retirement.
Pat’s late husband John was a WWII Navy Veteran and together they were devoted to veterans’ services. In her retirement, Pat worked alongside John in the Veterans Services Department for the Town of Raynham. Pat took great pride in this work and dedicated herself to this role until the time of her passing.
In addition to her love for John and veterans’ services, Pat was an animal lover. She spent her free time caring for her in-home cat, as well as feeding and providing for the stray cats who lived in her backyard. Pat was thoughtful, funny, and creative, but above all else, she was strong-willed.
Pat was the mother of the late Donna Lee Farchi, grandmother of the late Krystal Watanabe and great-grandmother of the late Hitoshi Watanabe. She was the daughter of the late Louella Baker and sister of the late Dorothy Marie Ellis.
Pat is survived by her stepchildren Kathleen Donovan and her husband Jim of South Dartmouth; Robert Montagano of Naples, FL; and Ann Montagano-Teixeira and her husband Joseph Teixeira of Fairhaven. She was the grandmother of Elizabeth Teixeira and James Teixeira and the aunt of several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123), Brockton on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 9:30am-11:00am, followed by a funeral service at 11am. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery.
