Michael Augustine Fritschy, 90, of Derry, NH passed away Tuesday January 14, 2025, at his residence after a period of declining health. Michael was born August 17, 1934, in Andover, MA and was the son of Edward and Margaret (Murphy) Fritschy. He was raised and educated in Lawrence, MA. and has been a resident of Derry, NH since 1966. Michael was one of 17 siblings in his family and the last survivor.
Michael served in the US Navy during the Korean War, after which he returned home, finding employment in the shoe industry. Mr. Fritschy became a shoe last maker, or model maker for the shoes to be made from. He eventually became a co-owner of a business offering his expertise. When he was younger, he enjoyed fishing and boating, but spent most of his time enjoying his family, especially his grand and great grandchildren.
Members of the family include his three sons, Kevin Fritschy and his wife Jurate, Michael Fritschy and his wife Michele, and Shawn Fritschy, five grandchildren, Rachel, Jessica, Michael, Sharunas and Vytautas and four great grandchildren. Mr. Fritschy was predeceased by his beloved wife Sandra (French) Fritschy in 2011.
After cremation Michael will be interred, Friday January 24, 2025 at 3:00pm, with Military Honors next to his wife at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. Family and friends are welcome.
