King, Marion Ann, Age 70 of Scituate, MA, formerly of Jamaica Plan, passed away January 14, 2025, peacefully following a long and difficult illness. Born in Boston in 1954, Marion later made a life on the South Shore and is survived by her husband Frank King of Scituate, MA and Jennifer King of Weymouth, MA. Marion was preceded in death by her parents Alice (Halligan) and Francis X. "Barney" Carmichael. Beloved sister of Ginny Carmichael of Manchester, NH, Elaine Carmichael of Jamaica Plain, Deborah Carmichael of Boston, Richard Carmichael and his wife Joanne of Hudson, and Patricia Carmichael of Walpole. Marion was preceded in death by her brothers John, Paul, Francis and her sister Margaret “Peggy.” Loving auntie and “ya-ya” of numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Marion also leaves behind heartbroken family members and many, many friends. Marion will forever be known for her kind, generous and loving spirit. Even in the most challenging times, Marion saw the joy and light in any situation and her positivity will forever inspire others.
Visitation at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., DEDHAM, on Monday, January 20, 4 to 7pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Tuesday, January 21, at 9am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption, 420 High St., Dedham, at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In recognition of being the beloved “Nonna” to her granddog Tessie, donations in Marion’s memory may be made to the Scituate Animal Shelter or MSPCA.
