Obituary

Hudson, NH
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Lucia Goudreau, affectionately known as ”Gerry,” on January 12, 2025, at her home in Hudson, NH where she resided for the past 18 years.
Formerly from the North Shore area, she was known as the jovial switchboard operator at the Shaughnessy Kaplan Rehabilitation Hospital in Salem, MA. For many years, everyone was met with a warm welcome and a kind word. Gerry possessed a positive attitude that she shared with all she met. She was the kind of person that everyone enjoyed spending time with...always finding the best in others.
Gerry was a sports enthusiast and great athlete. In her younger years, she was the star pitcher for the Caggiano All Star team in Lynn. Well informed on many subjects, she loved talking about sports and politics. One of her favorite things, on any Sunday, was to cook a spaghetti dinner and watch football games, but it could be any sport. She loved all sports.
Gerry was a proud Marine and was recently honored at a flag raising ceremony
atl the community she lived in. In later years she belonged to a cribbage club which she enjoyed weekly.
Gerry was one of six siblings and is survived by her sister Delores L. Smith and brother Donald A. Goudreau. She also has many cherished nieces and nephews as well as her best and dearest friend Jennie Rizzo. Together they shared a great friendship of almost 50 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to her calling hours on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem, MA, from 9:00 to 10:30 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 11:00 AM.
