Obituary

SATTER Lois T. (Rotondi) of Dedham, formerly of Roslindale and Hyde Park, passed away suddenly on January 13, 2025. Daughter of the late Bob and Ida Rotondi. Beloved wife of Sean Downey. Devoted mother of Thomas Clancy and his wife Kristen of Boxford, Tabatha Antonelli and her husband Jason of NH., Dylan Satter and his wife Leanne of Dedham, and Scott Satter and his fiancé Laura of Medway. Loving grandmother of Catherine, Thomas, Benjamin, Lexi, Isabella, Sofia, Kendall, Kelsey, Callie, Christian, Brielle, and Everly. Sister of Robert Rotondi, Diana Ruffini, Helen Rotondi, Robin Dellot, and the late Stephen Rotondi, Richard Rotondi, and John Rotondi. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Lois would always light up a room at family gatherings. She never missed an opportunity to compliment you on how nice you looked or how happy she was to see you. She truly enjoyed being with her family and sharing stories of her childhood.

Growing up in a large Italian family, Lois loved cooking. She learned to cook many of her family’s favorite Italian dishes and shared this love with her mother and sisters. Along with cooking, Lois also enjoyed being outdoors and gardening. She would often be found picking weeds and planting flowers. Lois loved to host her family and friends, showing off her flowers or latest knickknacks.

Lois was a true animal lover. Like the people in her life, she loved feeding animals, including the woodland creatures near her home. Her favorite animals were her two dogs. Always by her side, they brought her great joy.

However, Lois’s greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. She became a mother at a young age, and she loved her children and grandchildren wholly and unconditionally. She taught her children manners, work ethic, and, most of all, to love and look after each other. Her grandchildren called her Nana, and she loved to be around them, laughing and telling them stories about their parents' childhood. She had a unique way of connecting with her grandchildren and letting them know their importance to her. We all take solace in knowing she will always be watching over them.
