WEBSTER – Jane E. (Deary) Grochowski, 73, died Tuesday, January 14, 2025 in Hartford Hospital after a brief illness.
She leaves her husband of 51 years, Thomas E. Grochowski, Sr.; a son, Thomas E. Grochowski, Jr. and his wife Sadye; 2 grandchildren, Caleb J. Grochowski and Emma L. Grochowski, all of Webster; a brother, Mark Deary and his wife Karen of Webster; a sister, Catherine Deary of North Grafton; 2 brothers-in-law, James Paul and James Grochowski, both of Dudley; many nieces nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was especially close to her niece Catherine Paul of Dudley. She was preceded in death by her 3 brothers John Deary, Francis J. Deary III and Timothy Deary, and by her sister Mary P. (Deary) Paul.
She was born on March 24, 1951 in Worcester and raised in Webster, a daughter of Francis J. Deary, Jr. and Mary E. (Allen) Deary. She was a 1969 graduate of Bartlett High School.
Mrs. Grochowski began employment at Sandlerette Mills before becoming a cashier at Thifty’s Market. She was then employed by the Webster First Federal Credit Union in Webster as a teller supervisor. She retired in 2019 as a customer service representative at their call center.
She was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica. She was a Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics fan, enjoyed knitting and trips to Mexico. Her greatest treasure was the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held Monday, January 20, from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 19, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the funeral home. The family requests that flowers be omitted and donations in her memory made to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St, Framingham, MA 01701.
