Obituary

Richard (Rick) Henry Raymond, 64, died unexpectedly Friday January 10, 2025. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Henry R. and Jeannette (Pariseau) Raymond.
Rick was a lifelong resident of Salem and a proud graduate of Salem High School after which he attended ITT Technical Institute to become a certifiedcomputer technician. He also received a BA in Applied Sciences from Merrimack College.
Although recently retired Rick enjoyed many years of employment beginning his career at Raytheon and then moving to Verizon where he worked for the past 20 years providing technical support within the statewide 911 system.
Rick was a proud member of the Juniper Community Club in Salem Willows where he developed close and long-lasting friendships. He was also happy to be a member of the Franco American Club in Beverly.
Rick enjoyed many hobbies including darts, bowling, reading, playing cards and crossword puzzles however his first love was golf. He belonged to the Monday Night Golf League at Old Salem Greens with many of his childhood and lifelong friends. He was an avid collector of golf memorabilia andfor the past 25 years enjoyed 2-3 annual golf trips to Point Sebago, Maine and Lake Morey, Vermont with his brother Peter and many of their close friends.
If you asked those who knew him well Rick would have been described as a true gentleman who was a kind and trusted friend with a good heart.Rick loved to laugh and thoroughly enjoyed his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by many.
Rick is survived by his two brothers Peter R. Raymond and his wife Shannon Mary O’Donnell of Salem and Edward P. Raymond and his wife Ruth Ann of Virginia Beach, VA. He is also survived by three nieces, Samantha Megan and Cassandra as well as his Godson Michael Morenci Jr.
