Robert Wayne Fardin
Lt. Col. USAF Retired

Robert “Bob” Fardin, Loving father and grandfather, of Tewksbury, formerly of San Francisco, age 83. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, January 11, in the comfort of his home.

Born on June 2, 1941, Bob was the eldest son of the late Bruno and Marjorie “Bernice” (Frugoli) Fardin of San Francisco, CA. He attended St Ignatius College Preparatory School, graduating with the class of 1959. In 1964, he earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of San Francisco and, upon graduation, was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force. Bob served his country across the globe for over 20 years, earning an MBA from Western New England University and retiring from the Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1985. During his time in the Air Force, he had been stationed in Korea for several years and taught English to Korean students there. After completing his military service, Bob continued his career as a with Dynamic Research Corporation, working on the Joint STARS high altitude surveillance project.

Bob loved spending time with his ten cherished grandchildren and his family. He was a fan of San Francisco and Boston sports teams and enjoyed travel, including trips to Australia, Europe, and the Far East.

Bob is survived by his children Karen and Michael Noonan of Westborough, MA, James and Carol Fardin of Maplewood, NJ, and Robert Fardin and his wife, Stephanie Creegan of Lowell, MA. He leaves behind ten grandchildren: Sam, Julia, Harry, Isabelle, Jamie, Conor, Maggie, Caitie, Tommy and Teddy. He was also predeceased by his former wife and good friend, Patsy Chinchillo, of Tewksbury.

Bob is survived by his sister Barbara and her husband Paul Erhard of CA, and his sister Nancy and her husband Jim Gammel of NV. He was predeceased by his sister Beverly and her husband Rich Brown of CA. He was a loving uncle to Karina Malone of CA, Chris Brown of CA, Brian Compton of WA, and predeceased nephew Jeremy Compton of CA.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, January 17th from 10:00 -12:30 immediately followed by a prayer service and military honors at Farmer and Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury MA 01876.
