Helen (Ruginski) Sarras of Bridgewater, MA, passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, with family by her side.
Helen was born on March 1, 1936, in Hanover, MA. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be remembered for her genuine kindness, sense of humor, generosity, delicious cooking, and unconditional love for her family. Helen had a fulfilling career as a hair beautician for over 30 years. She owned and operated Helen’s Beauty Shop in Abington, MA, where many clients became lifelong friends as Helen could strike up a conversation with anyone. Besides family, Helen also enjoyed Polka music, Polish cooking, The Lawrence Welk Show, and coffee ice cream!
Helen is survived by her husband Nicholas A. Sarras of Bridgewater, MA. Her children, Maryann Morrill of Bridgewater, MA, and Gregory Kane and his wife Susan, of Plymouth, MA. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ashley Monaco and her husband Joseph of Kansas City, MO, Samantha Dimmer and her husband Chris of Yulee, FL, Nicholas Morrill and his wife Margaret of Bridgewater, MA, Stephen Morrill of San Antonio, TX, and Mikayla Weiterer and her husband Nick of Pembroke, MA. She is also survived by her greatest joys which are her great grandchildren Roman Monaco, Aubree Dimmer, Lilah Morrill, and Nico Morrill. Additionally, she is survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved and cared for deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Melvina Ruginski and siblings Jennie Comoletti, Walter Ruginski, Richard Ruginski, Joseph Ruginski, and former husband Robert L. Kane.
Following cremation, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Portuguese Holy Ghost Society in Bridgewater, MA, on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. All family and friends are invited to attend in honoring her memory.
