Alice possessed many cherished qualities: a thoughtful listener who saw the good in all. A lover of music and community engagement, she sang and traveled the world with SANS chorus and sang for decades with Mystic Chorale. She learned Spanish in college and continued to hone her speaking skills throughout her life. She was a sympathetic champion of women; volunteering her time at Rosie’s Place and Casa Myrna, both women’s shelters.
In her mid forties after her kids were grown, she served two plus years in the Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic, teaching health and nutrition, promoting breast feeding and assisting with births. She also tutored students in rural Peru. Born in NYC and raised in Manhasset Long Island, Alice graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in history. She sailed and rowed on the Charles River and loved her trips on the Lewis French Schooner in Camden, Maine. The map of her travels push pinned the globe.
