Obituary

Stelina Bijou, 22, of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, passed away tragically on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, in a car accident on her way to work. The heartbreaking incident occurred on her birthday, marking the untimely end of a beautiful and promising life.

Born on January 1, 2003, in Saint-Marc, Haiti, Stelina was the cherished daughter of Rony Bijou of Haiti and Lamercine Deshommes of Fitchburg. She spent her early years in Haiti, where her vibrant and caring nature began to take shape. As a teenager, she relocated with her family to Lowell, Massachusetts, where she continued to thrive, forging lasting friendships and building a legacy of compassion. Stelina graduated from Lowell High School in 2020, remembered by her classmates and teachers for her warm personality, strong work ethic, and unwavering determination to make a meaningful difference in the world.

Following high school, Stelina pursued her passion for helping others, becoming a Certified Nurse’s Aide (CNA). She worked at a local nursing home, where her dedication and kindness profoundly impacted her patients and colleagues. Stelina was also a full-time nursing student at Mount Wachusett Community College, where she excelled academically, earning a place on the Dean’s List. Her dream of becoming a nurse was driven by her selflessness, resilience, and commitment to uplifting those in need, which left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.

Stelina’s life was a shining example of love, generosity, and faith. She leaves behind a grieving family who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. Stelina is survived by her parents, Rony Bijou and Lamercine Deshommes; and her siblings: Rothschird Dangervil and his wife Manoucheka of Michigan, Emmanuella Dangervil of Lowell, Wesendji Bijou of Fitchburg, Nakia Bijou of New York, Dorny Bijou of Haiti, Lorny Bijou of Haiti, and Kenny Bijou of Haiti. She is also deeply mourned by her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends whose lives she touched with her radiant spirit.

Stelina’s family and loved ones find hope in Jesus, believing she now rests in peace, awaiting the second coming of the Lord. They draw courage and strength from the promise found in 1 Thessalonians 4:16–18:
"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words."

Stelina’s legacy of compassion and faith will continue to inspire those who knew her. May her soul rest in eternal peace as we hold on to the hope of a joyous reunion.
