Annette Marie Newton, 78, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Georgia.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Newton was born December 12, 1946, in Rochester, New York, to the late Michael & Rose Pozzanghera. She was a correction officer. Mrs. Newton was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and aunt. She loved all her family with a big heart. She was married 47 years to the love of her life, she enjoyed knitting, hummingbirds, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Newton especially loved hugs from her grandbabies. She was a member of St. Williams Catholic Church.
Mrs. Newton is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Newton of Fitzgerald; children: Eddie Newton, Florence Harper, Peter Newton and Terry Hultzen; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings: Michael Pozzanghera, Kathleen Barrett, Beatrice Gunkel, Lorraine O’dell and Sharlene Vallee; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children: Michelle Karges and William Newton, Jr.; grandchildren: Hitch McMillam, Justin Smith and Austin Johns; and her siblings: Samuel Pozzanghera and Vincent Pozzanghera.
