Abundio Rivera Marin, born on June 18, 1943, in San Nicholas de Ibarra, Jalisco, Mexico, passed away peacefully in his home on January 9, 2025. He embarked on a journey that led him to Santa Barbara, where he met his future wife, Catalina Trujillo. After their marriage, they settled in Ventura, CA, where he lived for the past 42 years.
Throughout his life, Abundio dedicated himself to healing as a massage therapist, touching the lives of thousands over a span of 40 years. He also provided spiritual healing to anyone who asked for it, offering comfort and support through his deep faith. His artistic spirit shone through his passion for songwriting, as he composed numerous songs for various bands. Abundio's unwavering devotion to the Lord was evident in his years of service at the San Buena Ventura Mission.
He is survived by his children: Patricia Garcia, Gregorio Marin, Abundio Marin Jr., Alejandra Jungo, Kathy Andrade, and Susana Lupercio, along with 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind one brother and five sisters.
Abundio is now at eternal rest in heaven, reunited with the Lord, his beloved wife, and a grandchild. His love, compassion, and dedication to his family and community will be fondly remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His family will forever cherish the love and wisdom their father presented to them, carrying his legacy in their hearts for generations to come.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours to be held on Wednesday evening January 22, 2025 from 5 to 8pm in the BOYKO & REARDON TELEGRAPH ROAD MORTUARY & CREMATION, 15 Teloma Drive, Ventura, where a Most Holy Rosary will be recited at 7pm. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am on Thursday morning, January 23, 2025 in Mission Basilica San Buenaventura, 211 E. Main Street, Ventura. Interment will then immediately follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, N. Hope Avenue, Santa Barbara.
