Carmelo Rivera III, age 35, of Holyoke, passed away on January 5, 2025. Born on March 10, 1989, in Holyoke, he was a dedicated settle man for the Package Corporation of America. Carmelo had a passion for building bicycles in his spare time, a testament to his creativity and love for hands-on work.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Veronica Rivera, of Holyoke, his father, Carmelo Rivera Jr., of Holyoke, his mother, Jacqueline Saez, of Holyoke, one sister, Jessica Rivera, of Holyoke, his partner Alexis Chatel of Holyoke, and his grandfather, Carmelo Rivera Sr., of Puerto Rico. He also leaves behind two grandmothers, Lydia Rivera Diaz of Holyoke and Miriam Candelario of Springfield; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss him.
Carmelo was predeceased by his grandfather, Juan Candelario.
A calling hour will be held on the morning of the funeral, Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:30 AM at the Grise Funeral Home, located at 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. This will be followed by an in-house prayer service at 11:30 AM. Burial will take place in Forest Dale West cemetery, Holyoke
