Obituary

Matthew Michael Fausset
December 25, 1964 - December 30, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Matthew Michael Fausset on December 30, 2024, at the age of 60. Matt was born on Christmas morning, December 25, 1964, in Ventura, CA, to Richard and Marcia Fausset.
Matt was a beloved husband to Stacy Fausset and a devoted father to his sons, Bryce and Lance. He met Stacy in high school, and they married on April 21, 1990. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. After his diagnosis with Primary Progressive Aphasia, Matt and Stacy made the most of their time together, traveling the world and cherishing moments with friends and family.
Matt is also survived by his sister Crista Thompson and her husband Gavin, along with their children Evan and Lina; his sister Amy Blanchard and her husband Ross, and their children Sarah and Miles; and his sister-in-law Patricia Fausset, wife of his late brother Rick Fausset, and their children Amy and Cory Will, and Ricky Fausset. He was predeceased by his father Richard Fausset and his brother Rick Fausset.
A talented athlete, Matt graduated from Buena High School in 1983, where he excelled in multiple sports, earning MVP and Athlete of the Year awards. He continued his education at USC and graduated from California Lutheran University with a degree in Business Administration. In 1997, Matt started Fausset Printing, developing it into a successful printing and graphic design business that served Ventura County and beyond. He was also an avid photographer, creatively incorporating his photography skills into his business.
Matt was known for his kind, fun, and supportive nature. He loved sports, friends, photography, and animals. An exceptional athlete, Matt spent much of his adult life hiking, biking, golfing, surfing, skiing, snowboarding, and playing beach volleyball. He loved music and dancing, and he and Stacy rarely missed an opportunity to dance. He was famous for his "Bust a Move" karaoke routine, which was highly requested at weddings and parties. Matt had a unique ability to entertain and bring joy to those around him.
As a devoted father, Matt spent countless hours assisting with his sons’ youth sports, volunteering, attending their various sporting events, and dedicating years to coaching youth basketball, baseball, and football teams. He and Stacy shared a love for sports, the outdoors, and travel, embarking on many adventures throughout their life, such as scuba diving in the Caribbean, as well as numerous hiking, mountain biking, and snowboarding trips with friends. They loved sharing these passions with their sons, fostering a love for nature and sports.
Matt will be remembered as a kind and friendly soul who was loved by many. He was always willing to help someone in need, jump in when teamwork was required, or dive in when there was fun to be had. His many lifelong friendships are a testament to Matt’s character. His gentle spirit, love for life, and sense of humor will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 2, 2025, at Poinsettia Pavilion from 1 pm to 5 pm. We invite all who knew and loved Matt to join us in honoring his memory and celebrating the incredible
life he lived. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Matt’s name can be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Ventura.
