Obituary

Shirma Farmer was born on February 29, 1956 to the late Maudrica Farmer and Hilton “Ucal”
Joseph in Whim, Tobago. Shirma migrated to the USA in the early 70’s , the first of her many
siblings, residing in Brooklyn, New York where she attended Franklin Lane High School . Shirma
accepted Christ and was baptized into the Spiritual Baptist Faith in New York. She worked as a
construction worker at Walcott & Sons and as a custodian at Theodore Roosevelt High School. She loved to cook and sew, particularly curtains and blankets. Shirma loved children and would be seen helping her daughter Marcella at the daycare she once owned. She enjoyed life and her family.

Shirma Farmer departed this life on Monday, December 30, 2024. She was preceded in death by
her father, Hilton Joseph; mother, Maudrica Farmer, daughter Natasha Walcott and her sister
Jennifer Duncan. She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter Marcella Walcott of Bronx, New York, her granddaughter Hadiyah Braithwaite of Bronx, New York: five sisters, Maureen Doyle ( Peter) of Boston, MA; Joaquin Edward ( Kevon) of Quincy, MA; Lyn Joseph, Lynette Joseph of and Susan Joseph all of Brooklyn, NY; two brothers, Oswald Guy ( Mary) of Brooklyn, NY and
Keith Joseph of Brooklyn, NY and her very dear friend and companion Robert Teque of Everett,
MA. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend viewing hour on Saturday January 18, 2025 from 9-10 AM followed by a Religious Service from 10-11:30 AM in the Joseph Russo Funeral Home, 814 American Legion Highway, Roslindale, MA. Burial is private.
