WEBSTER – Lorraine C. (Audette) Jarosz, 94, died Wednesday, January 8, 2025 in Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge after a period of declining health. Her husband of 66 years, Edward C. “Kitso” Jarosz, died in 2019 and her son, Joseph G. Jarosz, died in 1989.
She leaves nephews and nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces and their children, and cousins. She also leaves longtime friends and neighbors.
She was born on September 30, 1930 at home in North Grosvenordale, CT, one of the 8 children of Zoel and Rose Delima (Chaput) Audette and grew up there. She moved to Webster at the time of her marriage in 1953.
Mrs. Jarosz owned and operated Lorraine’s Beauty Salon in Webster in the 1980’s. She then worked for her son Joey at Smith Stationers in Webster, retiring in 1990. She was the hairdresser at the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home for over 30 years.
Lorraine enjoyed cooking and baking, especially for the holidays. She was a former member of
Saint Joseph’s Church in North Grosvenordale, CT and of the Daughters of Isabella there. In Webster, she belonged to the Democratic Women on Wheels during the John F. Kennedy campaign.
She was a kind and caring woman, always thinking of others before herself.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 22, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Joseph’s Church, Main Street, North Grosvenordale, CT. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. There are no calling hours. Donations in her name may be made to St. Joseph’s Church, c/o St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, PO box 665, Putnam, CT 06260.
