STANDISH- Robert J (Bob) MacMillan (85) of Standish passed away January 7, 2025, with family at his side. Born April 29, 1939, in Lynn, MA the twin boys were brought to Maine to grow and attend schools.
In 1959 Bob married the love of his life Marion and thereafter started his family of five girls.
Bob began his loyal work journey with Joe Paine/Northeastern General Contractors and continued when the business moved to Standish in 1971 until retiring 2016. He played a huge roll in the young men who worked alongside him, teaching them the construction trade, giving them the valued tools for them to carry on or start their own in the construction industry. A self-talent in all things he did from foundation figuring, building homes, bulldozing to the point that anyone having to work while he ran dozer had little to do, mechanic on large, small and even construction equipment, a welder…you name it and he could do it. His talents went beyond construction as he also instilled all the knowledge and work ethics to his family.
Bob enjoyed camping, horseshoes, cribbage, but his true favorite pastime was to build beautiful furniture for his girls, family and those he knew. Every piece was built to beyond perfection and made with love.
Bob is predeceased by his wife Marion, daughter Debbie, brother and sister-in-law Bill and Sandy, brother in laws Dick Hooke and Paul Robie and who he considered a son in law Carl Littlefield.
Bob is survived by his daughters: Terri (Pete), Diane, Robyn (TJ), Belinda (Dan)
Grandchildren: Travis, Jaime, Joshua, Brittany, Amber, Brett, Tiffani, Sam, Micah, Bridget, Nathan, Reagan, Justin, Timmy, Anna, Michael, Kaitlynn, Abbie, Andrew
Great Grandchildren: Hailey, Briley, Trenton, Everly, Nash, Cullen, Micah J, Wrenley, Cooper, Skyler, Harper Lee.
Bob will be remembered for his infectious smile and laugh but above all he will be remembered for the forever love he had for Marion and his girls.
